Introduction by Cohen – transcript

G'day, my name's Cohen Holloway. I'm on set at the moment. I'm an actor playing a police officer in a comedy show, which should come to TV soon. I'm really excited to be involved in this.

Writing for me is really important because without a script I'd just be standing here like this.

[Text on screen - Cohen Holloway's story starter.]

So here's my one-liner, it goes like this:

“Pua cast his line from the dinghy and it snagged straight away. Uncle tried to help him real it in many times, but it wouldn't budge. Suddenly the skies turned grey and the sea got choppy. Then slowly from beneath the waves, a pirate ship bubbled up from the depths of the ocean and dwarfed the dinghy.”

Probably seen me in the movie Boy as Chuppa, and I have a real high voice like that aye. So I'll do it as John Campbell. This is how John Campbell would read the line.

OK, now hang on a second, I'm gonna read it, OK. And we'd go:

“Pua cast his line from the dinghy and it snagged straight away. Uncle tried to help him real it in many times, but it wouldn't budge. Suddenly the skies turned grey and the sea got choppy. Then slowly from beneath the waves, a pirate ship bubbled up from the depths of the ocean and dwarfed the dinghy.”

And if I was Richie McCaw, I'd say:

"Uh, Pua cast his line from the dinghy and it snagged straight away. Uncle tried to help him reel it in many times, but it wouldn't budge. Uh, suddenly the skies turned grey and the sea got really choppy. Then slowly from beneath the waves, a pirate ship bubbled up from the depths of the ocean and dwarfed the dinghy."

So that's my one-liner. I hope you guys can write some cool creative stories. And remember, reading and writing is awesome. And it's marvellous to talk to you as a police officer.

Thanks a lot.
